Transcranial magnetic stimulation parameters as neurophysiological biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a safe and noninvasive tool for investigating the cortical excitability of human brain neurophysiological functions GABAergic, glutamatergic, cholinergic neural circuits. Neurophysiological biomarkers based on TMS parameters can provide information pathophysiology dementia, be used to diagnose Alzheimerâs disease differentiate different types dementia. This review introduces basic principles TMS, devices stimulating paradigms, several measurements, clinical implications disease. Key Words: · Diagnosis Treatment.
